The Reeve History & Cultural Resource Center serves as home to the Westfield Historical Society. Built in 1870, the Italianate style structure houses a museum and is the future site of the Society's archives. The property has a rich history – it’s owners Edgar and Ralph Tichenor Reeve donated the house to the Town of Westfield in 1985 in memory of their father, William Edgar Reeve. William lived in the house from 1906 to 1963 and contributed to the development of Westfield. The site is also located on Mountain Avenue where it played an important role in the American Revolution as a spring located on the rear of the property that was used by both American and British troops.
The home hosts events and programs on the 1.62-acre site, as well as permanent and rotating exhibits throughout the year. The Reeve History & Cultural Resource Center is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
