Eden Woolley House

The Eden Woolley House serves as the headquarters of the Ocean Township Historical Museum. Built by original settlers in 1697, the home was one of the first properties sold in Ocean Township. In 1849, Eden Woolley became the Township’s first elected councilman. The home also represents the evolution of Monmouth County farms of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries into gentleman farms of the twentieth century.
Today, the Eden Woolley House is one of the few remaining eighteenth-century structures in Ocean. The museum offers exhibits on the history of coastal Monmouth County and a full calendar of events. Visitors can utilize the museum’s library and archive, which houses manuscripts, books, and photographs of historical and genealogical interest.
