BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery

350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562

609-738-2400

Dedicated on May 30, 1986 by Governor Thomas H. Kean, the BG William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery is New Jersey’s first state-operated veteran cemetery serving as "a lasting memorial to those men and women who put their lives on the line to defend our country's honor and freedom." The cemetery was named for the principal guiding force behind its development, U.S. Army Brigadier General William C. Doyle.

The cemetery is a contemporary memorial with all grave markers flush with ground level. It covers 225 acres and was designed to accommodate 171,000 veterans and their family members. The most prominent feature of the cemetery site is the modern, non-denominational chapel and administration building. Built atop a 50-foot-high hill just off to the right of the main entrance, it overlooks the entire facility. Adjacent to the chapel is a courtyard where the U.S. flag, the New Jersey State flag, and the POW/MIA flag are flown in tribute to all veterans buried in the cemetery. The facility was funded jointly by the state and federal governments and is managed by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
